Seeking: Chard Recipes

Okay, so... this is the first year I have grown chard. I decided to grow it for purely superficial reasons- every year I have drooled over other people's lovely photos of swiss chard, lit from behind. Swiss chard: stained glass of the veggie bed. The thing is, I'd never eaten it. Now that ours is getting into the swing of things, I need advice on how to use it! So far I have only sauteed it with garlic and olive oil (not a hit with the kids) and in a stir fry (nobody complained). So, how do you use it?

Saute in olive oil, as you said, then add in some chopped garlic (when the chard is on its way to wilting because you don't want to burn the garlic by adding it too soon. Remove from heat, then stir in some crumbled feta cheese. If you like, add in some shakes of balsamic vinegar. Yum!

I always do it with olive oil, garlic and a little vinegar. So I'm no help. I have put it in lasagna before. It is a lot like spinach that way.

I boil my chard until its just tender than I saute it with garlic, olive oil and a touch of diced tomatoes. Salt to taste....Oh its delish!

I forgot to mention that you should string the ends of the stalks so they are tender- just like you do celery...then chop a bit so its not giant leaves. Sorry!

A bit late chipping in with a recipe, but if you go to my post at
